hey all im looking at getting into flyfishing for bream,and other estuarine species, i was wondering what weight rod u would recomend,brands please, etc. im looking at spending 500 bucks,for that i want line leader rod reel and all other neccesaties,thanks in advance for your replies,ba:) .

Go get yourself a saltwater fly video, or just borrow one from CA in Boxhill. They have one there done by Micah Adams and it's all about fishing for estuary species with fly gear. At the end, he goes through all the gear used/needed etc. I reckon it'd be pretty useful for you.

even better would be to get lessons. with a teacher there is one near me/ryan. @yarra bend with red tag club.

a mate of mine had some fly lessons he said they were well worth it he tried to teach himself but found it really hard, being shown how to do it by a pro made it easy didnt cost a lot i dont think

thanks guys yeah, im definatley going to pay for a few professional lessons, when i buy my setup, now i need more info on the setup itself,cmon ppl what should i buy?

go the gloomis combo $400 comes with everything just add fly.
check out alpine angler (http://www.alpineangler.com.au/)
6 weight is plenty for bream but some will recommend 8 weight as better for a newbie

thanks nathaniel, that was exactly what im after ill give them a bell when i get a chance to just confirm everything, i should be the owner of a new loomis fly combo,cantwait,the price is good too:cool: :D
