Hi Bream guys and Gals,
Well this is my first real thread since getting on here and I gotta say that I have been real inspired.
I've caught a few bream, sure, and that was after thinking they were a complete myth but I caught a few and some were a fair size also. I recall sitting down at the Wonnerup Estuary shortly after I moved into the district from Fremantle back in 1989 and I had what you would call a total RED LETTER session on blackies, but with whitebait. This since then has been my preferred bait, particularly in the Wonnerup Estuary and it has accounted for quite a few fish. But I've got some good fish on Prawnstars too.
But the plastics have got me pretty good now.
I've not had a great deal of knowledge on these little pieces of plastic stuff that would normally be more at home in my young sons toy box.
I bought a few various packets of grubs and stuff and built up a nice little collection but not really known how to really use them.
An hour looking around on this web site has fuelled me up with knowledge and more importantly, motivation.
I'm hanging out to try some different things and some different styles.
I've always been an advocate of keeping it simple and I've promoted that in my writings for FishingWA.

Let the learning curve grow. :D :D :D

Cheers
Dale

good on you dale hope you catch more on SP'S, betting than using bait that goes off after every trip. do you think one of those blue gropers in the SW would take a soft plastic one day.
nice colom too .

Hey Peter Bear, Yeah, maybe they will. I've submitted a Cape Naturaliste story for my March coloumn and mentioned the potential Blue Groper spots, so maybe someone may break the ice on one of these with a plastic.

Cheers

Welcome, Dale. :)

Well, you are better than me, cause I've never had a bloody nibble on those things. I have two of them in my tackle box, and honestly every time I see them now I feel like tossing them out. :)

I do much better on SP's and lures. In fact, we're off to Lake Moogerah this afternoon for a weekend of camping and fishing for Australian Bass (the freshwater bream!). :)

Again, welcome and have fun. They are a good bunch here.

Kev
I have a few Prawnstar lures, but find the Juniors to be the pick of them. They are heaps smaller, and I have found hits have increased after I swapped to the Junior Prawnstar.
;)
