In the online store it mentions cutting these down to 2'' and punching a hole out of them and using a nitro jig head.

Anyone tried this and whats a simple way of punching the hole?

Also I have cut the bass grubs down from 3'' to 2'' with great success so I'm interested in doing it with these.

Thanks :)

Hey Jim
Why are you cutting the 3inch down to 2inches, when you can buy 2inch sliders?
Is it purely based on the colour range?

The pic below is from the online store.

There are some extra colours in the 3" that aren't available in the 1.75''.

Jim,
Someone on here (I think) said they had a little tube punch that made the holes. I'd imagine that a visit to a hobby/toy shop that deals in model planes and boats would turn up some thin walled brass tube in a range of sizes. Cut off a couple of inches and sharpen one end, solder an old 1 cent coin or similar to the unsharpened end so you have something comfotable to push against. Drill a hole right through both sides just under the coin/cap and put an appropriate sized keyring through it to attach a bit of elastic/chain/etc. That way you could clip it to your tackle box or clothes and not lose it. (I'm pretty sure whoever it was that said they had one on here also said they lost it.)

Just thinking about this more...
A spent brass ammunition cartridge of appropriate caliber would work well too.

PW,

Thanks for those ideas there great, I will have made something up by lunchtime, I have a few .222 and .17 calibre spent cartridges that should do the trick, I have a reamer tool that can make a fairly sharp edge to round brass.

Again Thanks for those ideas :)

I thought it was Warren who said he had one but lost it, but could be wrong.

You are probably right Captain, whoever it was indicated that they had been "given" it by the lure company.
