I was thinking this afternoon while I was having a beer what a waste or time it is when the lure manufacturers fit trebles & rings to their product so when we buy them we can take them off & chuck them in a dark corner in the cupboard never to see the light of day again let alone see a fish. I wonder if they would be prepared to sell the lures at a slightly reduced price without rings & hooks ? They would save money by not having to supply the hardware & also save cost on labour not having to fit them. I am aware they could not test the action without them but I am happy to tune them up & I'm sure a visual inspection would separate any real duds before they sold them. I think I would be right in saying that the first thing 99 percent of us do when we get a new lure is ditch at least the hooks if not the rings as well. I wonder if we got a good positive response to my idea if we could persuade Warren to ask a couple of the lure manufacturers about supplying minus rings & hooks at a bit of a reduced price?

I actually put together 2 x 52 scorps last night, turned them from shallows to deeps, replaced the bib with DD version, put on new rings and hooks. Very easy to do, if you have all the bits n pieces. I was actually going to enquire if we could buy a heap of them bulk. And remember to much or to little glue can be the end of a good bib for sure.

Hey Richo, where did you get your bibs? If you don't want the world to know, could you PM me. I am making lures in the 50mm range and i need more bibs. Any help is appreciated mate!:D

I have thought EXACTLY the same thing Ravin everytime I buy a new HB the first thing I do is P@#s the el cheapo rings and trebles off.

If they can't sell them at a reduced cost without them, Why not sell them slightly dearer with some decent rings and trebles?

Interesting post Ravin :)

I'd be perfectly happy to buy them with suitable size Gamatsuku's & pay a little more :)
