Finnesse jigs are great for bass minnows and the hooks are really sharp and strong. I use 1gram size 2 and 0.5 gram size 2.
Envirojigs are good too but the profile of finnesse seems a little more subtle on bass minnows. Starlo, bushy and a heap of others in the ABT/AFC circuits use the finnesse and bass minnow combos to great effect.
The shiny head of the enviros are good when used in clear waters where the sun can reflect off them. And they are environmentally friendly
Try a pack of 1/16 enviros and a pack of 1 gram finnesse jigs and see which ones you prefer. Both will catch fish but the heavier weights will be easier to cast. As you get used to them get the lighter weighted jigs. they sink slower and give a more natural drop... great for pylons, marinas and shallow rock bars

Oh just ignore that, im really sorry, you wont catch anything if you use a 1/16th ounce, U need 1/32nd ounce envirojig.
I prefer using nitro's and TT's in 1/40, 1/32, 1/20 & 1/16
My preferred jig for bassminnows would be the .5g squidgy finesse jig
