Remember that with most insurance companies, that fishing gear and tackle is only covered whilst in your home and is not covered away from your home UNLESS the fishing gear and tackle has been specified on your policy.

Its amazing just how much $$$ you can actually have sitting in your car or boat so don't get caught out.:)

Yeah i know what you mean.
Your outfit $250+
phone $450
wallet $????
tackle $100+
etc
It all adds up!!!:D

Some policies only ask you to put up things over a certain $$$ value. Make sure you know how much you're covered for.

I have coverage for out of the house and only need to specify individual items over $xxx. Had this discussion a while ago on another forum. Scary when you think just how much stuff you can carry.

I went on a trip to Thevenard Island last year and we worked out that rods alone, we had over $5000 between the 6 guys. That's insane. By the time you add lures, reels etc. it's a lot of money you're carrying on tope of the roof/trailer.

My boat insurance has coverage for tackle too. Nice.

Speaking of sponsors, Bear, did I tell you I picked up a new Stessl Edge Punt a while ago? They are a nice little boat.

I got the 3.75m model. Just the right size for the lovely lady and myself. I can just about handle it all by myself too, so that'll some in handy when she tires of fishing with me all the time. :D
