Rigging Ecogear Pad Tue??

Just opened up a packet of the Ecogear Pad Tue, man they smell strongly! They are kind of hollow, not like the standard softie so do you rig them on a lead head jig or what???

Most guys feed the lead head inside the hollow section and just have the eye poking out to feed the line through.

As Bear said, insert the jighead inside it and then poke the eye out of the tube. Or as I usually do, feed the hook through the front as you would a normal plastic and then when you get to the jig head pull the plastic tube over the jighead so its covered (doesnt matter if you tear it they hold up pretty well)..mine often end up looking pretty mutilated but the bream and flatties don't seem to mind at all when you jig them like crazy.

thanks guys. I haven't used them yet, any particular technique for the retrieve? I was thinking lift drop or just bouncing it along the bottom.

I've heard that i really erratic retrieve works well on the Pad Tue?

They are meant to be a prawn/shrimp imitation, so a flicking action would be how they should swim. Short flicks of a couple of inches, especially around weed beds would seem natural.

Dave, I've caught bream on them with all sorts of retrieves, from jigging it like crazy to letting the lure simply sit in one spot as you would with a bait (I'm sure you know the scent is pretty damn strong).

Just try some different techniques and see what works best for you.

tested out the purle/watermelon colour in my local lake for a couple of flatties and a couple of bream. The smallest bream was only about 7cm's!
