After the walpole event, was just wondering who has tried a big scorpion in the swan and how did it go??
I tried one up redcliffe way on some flats for no result. Also saw nick C and when i left, he had nothing as well..

Those whimpy upper river Blackies haven't got the nurries to go a big 68, go down and have a go where the flats are hard and full of cockles.

g'day scott,
cant say i,ve had any luck on big chrome gold lures.i fish around ron courtney island on the ashfield side.i've been trying a chrome/gold tilsan minnow which gets down to 3 or so metres as the water is very deep on the bend, flogged the water to a froth a couple of times, nothing, but changed to a red/black pattern last outing and hooked up within 10 mins.smaller chrome/gold versions work very well so i dont know why larger versions dont ??

Why wait, its obvious Blackies can adapt to any salinity conditions if they want to and if they need to. They would already be there if it was anywhere the same as Walpole - and I couldn`t see them leaving either...... the magic word is IF though.

scott last winter i saw guys fishing the sand bar/flats just out from PFSYC and they were pulling bream on tilsan bass's. they were on the jetty casting out and there is definately no structure out there!

getting past the flathead on the lower reaches sand flats would be a bit of a problem i reckon to get to the breamskies.....
