Hi Guys,

I am involved with the Leukaemia Foundation and we have The Worlds Greatest Shave For a Cure coming up. It would be great if the guys on here would like to get involved and have their heads shaved.

If you would like to get involved it would be great to hear from you. I will have more details in a couple of days after we have the launch tomorrow.

If you are in the city between 11:00am and 1:00pm tomorrow (which is Fri the 7th Feb) pop down to QVI for the launch. There will be a few Celebrities having their hair cropped for this valuable cause.

Maybe we could organise a BreamMaster team and see if we can raise lots of money?

Cheers

I don't have much to lose Mim.

Mim
06-02-2003, 07:43 PM
I take it that means you wont mind getting sponsors to get rid of the little bit that you have?

Yeah, why not.

Come on BM posters, lets get this one going. A big shave off for a good group of us. I'll make sure it's covered and we'll do a bit of an article on it.

How about it Ira, JP, Richo Geoff and the rest.

Yep, go those boys!

I'd have to raise sponsorship for a search party to do mine.:)

Mim

JP said he will do it

I will get mine done for sure. Count me in. In these days of equal rights for men & women why don't a few ladies get the old N0 1 as well :D Come on guys don't be sookies it grows back quickly & is maintence free! It makes your head as aerodynamic as a racing pigeon so you use less fuel in the boat & can travel faster as well. Time saved washing & drying can be spent fishing :D It turns women on no end :D It turns off the type of blokes who wear lace panties :D & its for a good cause :D :D

06-02-2003, 10:19 PM
Hey Mim i'd love to. I have already shaved it so i'm not loosing much! I'll try and get there, it'll depend on whether uni and my broken leg permits me to get there. Cmon guys it really is a great cause!!!:D
All you have to do is walk down the wards of PMH to see how crucial it is that we find a cure for this!
This will seperate the men from the boys!!!:D

Thanks all of you for your support.

Maybe guys in the eastern states could set up a shave as well and we could see which state raises the most money.

I was thinking that maybe we could organise something at Rosie O'Gradys to do our shave. I have a friend who is a hairdresser and he will do the shaves for us, or maybe we could get Pom on the Swan and Graham to do the shaves for us.

The shave takes place between the 14th and 15th March. But we could always do it on the Wed night before that if that suits everyone.

Now you don't have to have your heads shaved. You can have it coloured if you want.

Registration forms are available on the net at www.worldsgreatestshave.com or else you can phone the Leukaemia Foundation direct on 9272 9332.

If the Wednesday night sounds good we can do the Bream Drinks and the shave at the same time. Let me know what you think and I will get in touch with Rosies and see whether they can organise a few incentives too.

Cheers

Hey Mim whats all this sexism?

Its a great cause , how come the girls can't shave as well?

I'll sponsor you $20-00 dollars to shave your head:D

I'd shave mine except I'd probably get melonoma of the melon,
were can donations be made as I would like to give something.

Hi LCF,

I lost my husband to Leukaemia, I think I will keep my hair. My efforts go into the organising. I am organising a shave at the Uni that I attend, Edith Cown University, I am helping at the Main Shave in the city, and now hopefully I am organising a Bream Challenge.

Women can and do have their hair shaved. I have a virtual pic of me, maybe I will scan it and post it.

You can get in touch with your local branch of the Leukaemia Foundation, they are all over Aust. All money raised in each state directly supports that state, All knowledge is shared all over the World.

In WA alone 10 people are diagnosed with Leukaemia a week. Pretty amazing numbers.

All support is greatly appreciated

Cheers

Hi Mim,

I'm sorry about your husband, I hope that I didn't upset you in anyway what so ever. I feel like a boof head now :(

Its a great cause, our local police station, ambo's and S.E.S and bushfire brigades get right behind it and get there heads shaved at the local barbers with big fanfare and the local newspaper taking pictures etc.

I wasn't joking about melanoma, I'm covered in sun spots and regulary get 'em burnt off (slip, slop, slap everybody) otherwise I'd get my melon shaved.

I'll make sure my donation is recieved.

Good luck with the day and hope you make a difference.

Kind Regards,

Jim

I don't upset easy. I am grateful for what I have , and what more could I want than my wonderful daughter, JP and Breaming (oh yeah and my 2 further years at uni).

I forgot to mention the Virtual Shave you can do. I have attached a pic of me that the Foundation did. You can see why I am not gonna shave off my long curly locks

LOL

Anyway guys, we are getting off the topic here. So I hope we can organise a few of us to have the shave, the virtual shave or the colour.

Sean is definately in, so is JP. I have a meeting at the Leukaemia Foundation on Wed morn, so I will bring all the sponsorship details to the Bream drinks on Wed night.

Are you guys over east gonna organise something too?

Mim
10-02-2003, 07:10 AM
Hey guys,

Not too many of you have put your hands up to have your locks removed. I was hoping for a better response. It could be fun. I know I will enjoy watching the hair fall.

Cheers

Pretty good!!!
But a few more would be nice. Don't forget that Warren has offered a prize pack for the person who raises the most money.

Craig S has asked for another 4 sponsorship books. If anyone else wants more let me know and I will post them out.

Mim, did we decide on a date/place/time/ for when it all comes off?

Note also some people are offering inducements for a Brazilian style and in one memorable instance, even more if they were allowed to do it!

Mim
13-02-2003, 07:46 PM
At this stage the Shave Off will be held at Rosie O'Gradys on Wed the 12th March from 6pm onwards. The usual Beer and dinner. If this changes I will let you all know.

Mmmmm...Brazillian...OUCH!!!

But I won't stop you if thats what you want to do. I am sure we would all enjoy watching
LOL

13-02-2003, 09:44 PM
YEEEEOOOOUUUUCCCHHHHH!!!!!:D
I'll leave the Brazilians to the Women. It would take a huge donation to warrant that!
Cmon guys, lets support this, we can get more than ten guys!!!:D
