This is that idea I mentioned about using old fireline boxes for leader dispensers :)

This was a fairly easy fiddle, some pine a jigsaw some stainless screws and some different sized drill bits and I don't know how I fished without it.

Craig,

There is something voyeuristic about checking out other peoples tackle boxes.

Yeah Jim I love a bit of a peak into other peoples stuff. We had 5 guys sharing a house in Walopole last weekend and it was an absolute free for all when the tackle boxes came out.

I have about 20 usable rods , and I could fill that tackle box 4 or 5 times easy.

That if a very nice set up, do you fish of the shore cos' that would be a pain to carry around.

Ben,

You have a PROBLEM lol but its a good problem isn't it?

I do 99% of my fishing out of a boat and I have a lot of different tackle boxes to take with me depending on the species being targeted......pretty anal huh?

YES

I am the same , I have a tackle box for every diferent type of fishing I do. I think it's 8 , 2 plano's for Breaming

I have a bag, an ex-army shoulder bag thing and I put in it items appropriate for the session/species. I have a tiny, double-sided Plano Phantom that is almost always present that holds a small quantity of a range of terminals. Hooks from size 10 to 3/0, sinkers and shot from tiny to #3 balls, some swivels, etc.
I have kits for certain species in plastic lunch boxes and I just put the kit into the bag. Next trip could be a completely different kit and the current one comes out and back into its lunch box.
This keeps things neat and manageable for a land based person like myself. The bag goes over my neck/shoulder and leaves both hands free for fishing, bush bashing or whatever. The bag can also hold my catch if I'm taking fish to eat, I just recycle a plastic shopping bag and keep the fish in the bag for short periods.
When I had boats I used a larger box that held a greater range of tackle for a variety of conditions and species.

Way to go.
I do all my fishing off a Motorbike so I have to keep it to a min.
I keep it all in one takle box and have one for each diferent tipes of fishing there is.
I have a desk in my shed that is only for fishing stuff.
You can never have to much gear.

Do you use a trail bike for the sand flats, Ben? ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Nice setup there Jim,

I should probably be commited to an asylum for the amount of fishing gear i have.
Last count (about Sept last yr) i had 1100 (eleven hundred) hard bodied lures................

a ten litre box of floats chokkas...................

23 rods setup with reels.....................

3 fly rod setups with 7 spools.....................

four terminal tackle boxes fully loaded with hooks sinkers swivels rings clips etc. ...................

a 20litre lockable dry box with trace materials and assorted essentials.................

another drybox containing the gps binoculars 27mg handheld radio and emergency tools

one 20litre shoulder bag with flies and assorted accessories

plus the odd 20 or 30 reels that are put aside for special uses one day

In my spare room i have about 6000 hooks of various sizes and patterns (i buy in bulk 1000 at a time for my common hooks sinkers swivels and what have you)

30 yrs of spending about 100 bucks a week on lure on average sure mounts up the reserves in the fishing game heheh

If the missus ever asks me to decide between her and the tackle im afraid its no contest im going fishing!!!!!!!

Tony.

MangaJack,

Seek help lol :)

Seriously that is one MAJOR investment! Have you checked with your contents insurance about coverage for your hardbodies etc ?

1100 wow, I would be so stressed out going for a fish because I would want to take all of them!

I could definately visit your place lol

heheh yeah Jim i do need help.............LOADING the boat sometimes heheh i need to buy another ute for when o go away camping for a few weeks tho its getting outa hand with all this gear and deciding on what to take just in case

Seriously tho, about 20% of those lures are retired ones that have done thier jobs very well.
Amongst the lures there are double ups and treble ups common and for one lure in particular i would have thirty of the one model in two different colours.

My missus will freak if she ever clicks to just how much gear is there......... i got it stashed all around the house in lil bits hehehe

Tony.
