Gents my riptide is my first electric. I had the gents who supplied me the boat purchase and fit it along with a brattery for the electric only. My stupid question is I paid for and purchased the Riptide 55 long shaft to fit my polycraft 4.55 and It moves me along ok, no complaints but on taking it off last night I noticed that its stamped RT 65. Is this the Riptide 65 or are the 55 stamped so (see told you its a stupid question).

My second stupid question is knowing that the 65 is 24 volt, can it still work ok (at a reduced capacity) on a single battery , since thats all its hooked upto ?

Any help to reduce my confusion would be appreciated.

Looks like BLA solved my problem for me. While I paid for a 55 I got a 65 , the 65 will run off a 12 volt battery drawing twice the power and delivery 1/4 thrust.

Now I just have to figure out how Im going to power it, 2 12volts in series or 1 24 and then purchase chargers etc.

Rig it up 24 volts, far better than 12, more volts less current andless amps on the 65lb also. You will like it. :)

Rigged it up on the 24 volts , ran it for an hour solid and still truckloads left in the batteries.

Thats good to hear, 24 volt setup is a better way to go.

How long does the battery last with an electric?

Depends on the size of your boat, motor and battery. But with the proper setup you can have it running all day if you want.
