Hi gibbo,

IMO nitros are hard to beat. Sharp and strong.

They are a top head.

There will likely be many views on this topic.

Hi gibbo,

Like the others said they are good!!!

They are more x e than squidgies but worth it IMO.

For a basic guide go here: http://members.dodo.net.au/~hannersley/Nitro.html

I think i should be a sales person for Kingpin LoL :D

I use his 'Jiggy Jigs' and couldnt be happier

I used Gamma and squidgie hooks but found them to be not as sharp and they where to weak.

Daves hooks are very sharp and wont bend on you in a hurry and IMO for the price ya cant go wrong

check them out!

For the $$$$ I think the squidgy hooks are pretty good value, especially the Finesse range. I landed my big bream at the Perth comp on the Finesse head.

We were chatting to Buschy up in Taree and I told him how impressed I was with the finesse heads. His reply was that is all he uses too. He landed all his fish on them in the Taree comp and he came in at 2nd place behind Tim Morgan.

The finesse range are a thicker guage than the original jigs, although I still use them and don't find they bend as often as people say they do, where as I have had gammas open up on me occasionally too, as will all jigs.

I choose the jig depending on what plastic I am throwing, what depth, what structure and the current.

Cheers

Hi all,

I can't see how a gamma isn't as strong as a original squidgy:confused:

The finesse maybe but the hook penetration is not as good due to the MASSIVE guage of the hook.

I have had salmon simply munch up originals!!!! This is on a REALLY light drag and 6lb mono!!!

Nitros all the way IMO

Hi All,

There are some good heads on the market such as Gamma's, Ecogear, Owner, etc but my vote has to go with 'Nitro's' range also.

Great head, built on both Mustad Aberdeen and Gamakatsu light and heavy wire hooks which are super sharp and strong, come in a great range of sizes and best of all they are Australian made so your money stays here!

I've got a crazy idea, what about the jig heads that this site sells?

Bream Master doesn't stock some of the mentioned jig heads and personally I find it pretty rude that people get on a website that is an online store and openly plug products from other sites.

Warren and I have talked about this at length and while we don't want to be Nazis about it all it’s going on far too often and seems almost a daily occurrence now.

Imagine how you would all feel if I went into your place of work and stood there and told people that walked into your shop, ie your customers, that your competitor’s product is better then yours, cause really that’s what it amounts too.

Like I said we don’t want to start removing bulk threads a day but it’s going on far too often, have some respect eh?

Hey, Ira

The same would apply to rods, reels, lines, SPs, HBs, etc?

These are forums, ie a free exchange of opinions on the particular subject, rather than promoting the gear that is not associated with Breammaster.com

You may find a lot of people will turn to other sites if you impose some restrictions and sanctions.
What about a free choice? If I like Atomics and Gamas, then I may buy them from the breammaster shop (and I did). If somebody doesn't like squidgy jigs for whatever reason, then why can't we discuss it openly and suggest some alternatives?
I bet that not all your gear is from the said shop?

Cheers,
Alex

Hey, Ira

The same would apply to rods, reels, lines, SPs, HBs, etc?

These are forums, ie a free exchange of opinions on the particular subject, rather than promoting the gear that is not associated with Breammaster.com <--- Says who? I didn’t realise that this was your site, hate to break it to you dude but bream master owns these forums and we will make the rules.

You may find a lot of people will turn to other sites if you impose some restrictions and sanctions. <---These restrictions and sanctions you speak of have been in place since the inception if this site. There are many internet sites that also sell gear and we have prevented them from being mentioned here right from the start of this site.

What about a free choice? If I like Atomics and Gamas, then I may buy them from the breammaster shop (and I did). If somebody doesn't like squidgy jigs for whatever reason, then why can't we discuss it openly and suggest some alternatives? <---I suggest you read my post again, I said, “we don't want to be Nazis about it all it’s going on far too often and seems almost a daily occurrence now.” We don’t want to ban people from talking about gear we don’t stock, we spend money to provide these forums and this service which you use for free. This is a business and as a tackle retailer there is a line we must draw in the sand somewhere about talk of our competitors.

In this thread not one person said “hey why don’t you jump on to the online store and have a look.”

It’s about common sense really and respect, use it.

Hi Ira,
If your referring to me in this particular thread (I'm making an assumption), then I apologise. However, If you go through my other posts, you will notice that my posts direct a hell of a lot more business the way of Breammaster, than they do towards mine or any other entity. I go out of my way in order to inform people of Breammasters stock frequently, particularly in terms of lures and rods/reels that you guys supply. I also have a link to Breammaster.com on my website.

Having said this, if you guys feel that this thread is out of line, let me know and I'll erase my post.

I think you'll find the biggest concern is people from other shops using these forums to poll about items they don't stock. BM have gone out of their way to be a leader in Bream gear and that won't stop, but having the forums used openly to help stock other shops is more than a little cheeky.

JMO.

Hi all,

I'm not exactly sure who the post by ira is directed too???

As far as i know at least they use to stock nitros???

As for gibbo who asked the question being a store worker, if he hadn't of mentioned it nobody would have thought it.

Maybe breammaster should ban all other fishing shop employees apart from ones that are some way affliated with breammaster??

I can understand you reasoning for this but what about members that have "Sponsors" in the sig???? Surely this shouldn't be allowed if discussion of these products isn't???

Just my thoughts.

Well said eddystone!

I was just going to say the same, but you were quicker.
To Ira,
Re:"hey why don't you jump on to the online store and have a look" - Why didn't you say that yourself, instead of telling who's who on this site? You own it? Then keep it to yourself, Dude.

P.S. I also directed some people to Breammaster shop before when asked for good Aus. online store and suggested it on other sites in forums. Never heard from the sites moderators that this was inappropriate.
