No Beginners Luck

Gday All, Really keen to get into this Bream Scene. Have a 4.35 hornet, 40 Johnson ready all set up ready to go. Have been mainly targeting the Collie River in Bunbury. I have lost heaps of gear in these waters with no luck yet. So any one in the area would like to share some advice and go for a fish give us a yell.

Mate, Grant who is a regular to these pages is a local around that area and he is boatless. I am damn sure he would lve to get out and get amongst it with you:) . You also mentioned that you are loosing a lot of gear, it may be your knots, have a look at the books in Warrens shop. I have used 3 knots out of those books for leaders, jigs and hardbodied lures that have not let me down, a good investment and also think of the fish your loosing:(

Gday Damien,
What sort of gear are you using in the Collie? I have had a bit of luck but mostly up around the bypass bridge (further up river).

How are ya mate, well i have a pretty good range of gear from Warren and i have tried quite a few spots from the Collie bridge all the way up to about a km past the bypass bridge. I have seen guys catchin fish on bait and takin home. I have been wanting to go in a few comps to study the different techniques but due to my work of 5 weeks on 5 weeks off i have missed walpole and albany. I live in Eaton, with the river on my doorstep it is great.
Look forward to any advice, pretty keen to get the boat wet.

Well imusually available for a fish most days :)
Havnt done alot of fishing in a boat in the Collie and if havnt got a an electric motor maybe the go is cutting the motor and drifting into spots. Just keep trying different things to it works, for me that is light jigheads (1/32) and slow twitchy retreives. Atomic 2" Fat grubs are great to start with but most plastics mentioned around the sight are the go.
