Hi bowie06,

I haven't used pink.

I find the green easy to see on the water. It turns a kind of white colour.

Visability is the only real reason i can come up with. Green would be more natural than pink a guess.

mmmm most guys use green as it really is easier to see. Pink is also great, I personally cant see much between them except pink loosing its colour quicker. Id be thinking more along the line of using green as 4lb and pink as 6lb and grey as 8lb using the colour to differentiate between breaking strains.

Go the Pink. :D ;)

I used to use both green and smoke, but changed to pink about 7 months ago and haven't had a single wind knot. I've respooled with pink 4 times and I've never had a problem. I can't explain it, but it just seems to tangle a lot less.

gday

never tried pink but i dont really care which colour i pick up. Used to use green a bit but now i just rotate between smoke and green. I dont find they are much different except for visability.

cheers

Pink does look better on the reels...

i recon smoke looks the best on reel, pink looks pretty gay...

Forget smoke, it's too hard to see in the water. The pink fades quickly but it's still highly visible.

James,
I respool every couple of months, which for me is about 20-25 sessions lately.

I use smoke at the moment and can feel it getting hit on the drop. I will be respooling with the flame green in the future so I can see it easier. Flame is the go I reckon...pink is a girls colour:p

Tried them all and Flame green all the way!
Even to the point if I use smoke or even fish fluro right through to the jig I am not comfortable not being able to see the line.
So much of bream fishing is visual....
I don't think the extra few yards on the pink is wothwhile and agree with all the previous posts.
The other thing that is worthwhile is to order 1000 yard spool.
makes it cheaper and takes a bit of the guess work out of spooling.

4lb doesn't come in 1000yd spools, only the heavier stuff comes in that length.

Andrew I used to use nothing but 4lb but have recently gone to 6 as it has less tangles and lays better on the water in windy conditions.
Cast distance sacrificed a bit hence why I use 2500 reels also !!!
As far as the bite is concerned I have never caught as many fish as I am catching now!!
I wouldn't call 6lb heavy anyway!

gday

yeh im all for 6lb as i reckon the knots hold better as well. As far as the look on the reel is concerned then green is by far the best.

Hi bowie06,

Don't worry to much as i'm sure the pink will still work.

Maybe if you have 2 spools fill one with the pink 4lb and use it for open areas and fill the other with green six pound (I USE 8) for the snaggy country.

just a thought.

Nothing wrong with 4lbs pink there bowie....
I still found pink is easier to see on the water............

ahh another one for ya, is the 4lb to light for around snags and trees .....

Richo

not really, if your going to get busted off on 4lb, it probably would have happened on 6lb as well. IMO you`ll find 4lb more than strong enough for snags, what will stop you getting busted off instead of heavier lb line - is the quality of you leader you use and the quality of your knots to join it.

I use 4lb for everything and have 6lb on 1 or 2 spools for something different.

Depends what and where your fishing....I generally use 6lb to 10lb Vanish....the more snaggy or pylons I go heavy....clearer or when the fish seem more spooky I drop to the 6lb

Just got a new daiwa capricorn and loaded it with 4lb pink from swoffa's advice and the fact it does look good from far back. Havent used it yet but reckon it will go well. My mate got 300yds of the pink 4lb for his luvias as well so it must be popular. I would suggest 6lb flouro about a rods length for the leader joined via a uni to uni knot.

Also have 8lb flame on an epix 20 for a snagbuster outfit. Fish it with 10lb mono leader and catch heaps of fish on it.

I like the idea of two rods. If you get busted off on the light, fish the heavy and hang on... alternatively load a spare spool with 6lb green. and fish the same outfit.

Happy fishing ;)

A easy to see line is a must!

Personally I am for the Pink. Have been slack occasionally when I have been busted off and fished it straight to the hook and had no problems from the the fish side of things. not too good on the snags like that though.

Hello All,

just one question.

ive got a Okuma Inspira 20 reel, comes with 2 spools.

Line class for reel is 4,6 and 8 lb. but im thinking about throwing on 6 lb fireline on one spool, and 10 lb fireline on the other spool.

Will i get any trouble, such as tangles and knots, if i add 10lb line on, wheras the reel is designed for 4,6 & 8?

thanks, (sorry for the dumb question, im not a good fisherman :D)

Chopper I really doubt you will have problems.. What type of line does Okuma say the 4,6 and 8 lb line is??? Im guessing they mean Mono. So if you use 10 lb fireline. What is the simular diametre in Mono?? 4 to 6 lb?? at a guess..

i reckon pink looks pretty schmiko on the reel but i find my green 4lb much easier to fish wit, eg less colour fading etc

i'm the complete oppisite of that because, i am always watching my line to see any taps, hits...etc, as you said it looks sweet on the reels, and when its faded it still more visible then green:D
