Looks good.
Does the Riptide work alright there? I've never seen a "port-mount" bow mount before...;) :p
I don't see why it wouldn't work, it's just that it's designed for the front.

Thanks guys,
Scott, yes its 40 hp i took the GPS with me on the weekend on got 46km/h
Swoffa, i was a bit hesitant about it aswell but the guys at the shop told me it would work and it does, there is no differece that i can tell with the motor being on the side a bit. I thought it may make turning to the starboard a bit slow but like i said i cant notice a difference.
Thanks for your thoughts guys all ive got to do know is catch some fish :D

very nice looking boat ;) :) been looking at the polycraft boats for a while now, and when i do get a boat i'm defently going the poly:D :D
one question, do you have the front seat on top a the storage area, if so can you still get into it with out to much trouble

Gday chris78
Just wondering how you go with insurence when you put a 40 hp on the back when the dealer recommends a maximun of 30 hp can you still get insurence.
There are a few guys here with 40's on the back who have insurance, so it shouldn't be a problem. There is usually a premium when you go over the manufacturer limits though.
Drop Evan a PM and see how he went. Must admit, I thought they were rated to 40. Just checked the site though.

Its a great looking boat. I am in the market at the moment for a boat and after looking at this boat I dont no which way to go. I love the color and the rest of the setup well done
In the end Rono, go with what you're comfortable with. As much as we have our own preferences, they may not be what suits another person.
Enjoy it either way.

Rono,
The rating has been changed to 40hp and 50hp for the side console. The web site i dont think has been changed though. Im pretty sure even the 4.55m have been uprated aswell.
Im very happy with my boat for what i do and would recommend it to anyone who wants a small bream boat for estuary work. And you cant argue with the price, mine came in just under $14000 as you see it in the pics
Keenfisho,
the seat is over the front hatch as you said, however i havnt had an issue with access, i have things stored in there that i dont need access to regularly. To open the lid i can just lift the whole lot out or the chair and post just lift out of the base.
Cheers
Chris
Another option I've seen Rono is to change the mounting arrangement to the centre and have the hatch split so they can still be used. Fixes a few problems that way.
