New Yamatoyo Fluoro rock fish!

HI All,

Here is the New Yamatoyo Fluoro Rockfish. It is specally design for rock fishing because it has ultra high abbrasion resistance towards rasping against rocks, pylon etc. Give you more chance for big bream in tough country :)

ALso the good thing is it comes with 70m and RRP 16.50.

I am only bring in the country 3 sizes (6lb, 8lb and 12lb) They are general bream sizes :)

Just wondering what the line diameters are ?

Some brands out there tend to make up for the abrasion factor with a increased diameter, sorta defeats the purpose ;)

The diameter of 6lb,8lb,and 12lb are as follows:
0.205,0.235, and 0.285 which I think is pretty much the same as Harris Fighter and Razor Fluoro.

I've been super happy with my Yamatoyo leader (Harris fighter?) so far, reckon I'll give this stuff a run soon, could be the goods around the oyster leases.

at least a hard outer fluro might be good for fly fishing .i'm not happy with the 4lb yamatoyo ,too much memory if you put any stretch in it it starts to coil up not good for bream fishing.

HI,

If you are after a limp finish and less memory...you better of trying Yamatoyo Razor flouro instead of Super Haris Fighter.

Generally Flouro carbon material is stiffer than Mono anyway.

Hey guys.
Tony is pretty much on the money with his comment above.
It is for this reason that i prefer to use filler spool FC, rather than leader line FC. I loose a tiny bit of abrasion resistance, but gain knot strength and softness/limpness (can help with presentation).

Will have to give this new line a go this winter season in the YC's.

so you are saying that the stiffer FC's come with better abrasion resistance but are generally more prone to memory problems? I would have thought the limper lines would have more memory.. (not from experience, i have only used one type of FC, but am looking to purchase more so have been watching this thread with interest) :p

is it at BM store yet?

I'm currently using Vanish 6lb and was wondering how the diameter of this compares with that listed above? I figure with the gin clear waters around Sydney, the fish are pretty spooky which may have resulted in less action due to visibility of the leader.

Vanish Specs on the 250yd spools are:

4lb .18mm

6lb .23mm

8lb .25mm

10lb .28mm

that should give you something for comparison, oh and I didn't get the specs of the web. I have the spools right in front of me

Thanks John-Paul, since you have this stuff at your finger tips, do you know what FC leader material is rated the best in terms of lowest diameter and strength, or is it like many things, a personal preference thing.
