Braid Cutters

Any suggestions for a good pair of braid cutters? Tuf Line XP has defeated my current pair. Want a set that give a nice clean cut for braids up to 20lb.

ps: Have tried nail clippers, Penn side cutters and Stanley mini side cutters.

Check out some of the hardware stores for some little cutters or something like that i got me some for about $10 that came in a set of 8! other small pliers
And there spring loaded and fighting strong

Richo's Mums Snips rock...availiable from Breammaster for like $2.50 or something.
Just replace them when the get blunt. So cheap and effective.

We have found that the scissors in the Swiss Army knives works brilliant on Fireline and Braid. When they get a bit blunt all you do is take out your hook sharpener and sharpen the scissors. My knife cost about $19 and is only about 8cm long. All it has in it is the scissors, a knife and a nail file. If you want slightly larger scissors then go for one of the camping or hunting knives. The King of Knives has a pretty good selection to choose from and they are Australia wide

How about those fly leader cutters that usually hang from the retractable holders on a fly vest. I've been using those just like a flyfisho would from my vest (leftovers from my flyfishing days) and it works really well and you don't have to hunt for it when you need it.

One of the best I have come across is the Rapala Line cutters. They look like big nail clippers. YOu can get them from BM store (they also have a hook sharpener and tow point adjuster) for around $20.00. They also have a lanyard so you can attach it to your tacklepack or belt loop or what ever

Best I've used (and they're now about a year olf and cut through limp 4lb fizza) is the Kazax range. They do a split ring plier with cutters, and a plain pair of scissors. Bloody awesome cutters. Thing BM has them in stock? Next best thing - scissors on my Leatherman.

Thanks for all the input. Ended up getting the Japanese Kazax braid scissors which are brought in by Shipton Trading. They have yellow handles and have a RRP of $8.95. Give a nice clean cut on all the braids I tried.

Ok, I'm a doctor, and I'll say, if you have someone in the medical industry that can get their hands on surgical scissors for you, then they are by far the best. Cos some sutures are braided.
