hi its flathead again,
was in a mart yesterday and saw some new storm soft plastics. the difference was these incorporated a rattle just behind the tail set into the plastic, matched with an aniseed scent and salt impregnation, i think we have a night time and dicoloured water winner, havent tried it yet though, got a pack in chartruese. just thought those started to fish at night might be interested.
see ya

Hi flathead

That sounds interesting about the new storm plastics i will have a look around and see if i can find any of them and give them a go as long as there are no blowies around they love eating soft plastic lures
interested to hear how you go

I bought a packet of those Storm rattle plastics a while back, and while they are a good single tail grub, I must say I think the rattle is too small to be of any use and just serves to get in the way of the hook when you're trying to rig them up.
I took the little plastic rattle out so they became a normal single tail and caught a few nice flatties on them.
It's a shame they have the rattle really because I think they'd be a pretty good grub otherwise.

I've seen those rattle grubs too and wondered about threading it onto a jig head. Maybe if you were doing something like a weedless rig and not having the hook all the way through it might be OK?
