Mate there are plenty of spots in the Metro area if that's where you are.

Claremont jetty and along the shore line at claremont yacht club
Scotch Rowing shed at Mossies
Barrack st. Jetty
Herrison Island
Swan Trust Jetty
Canning Bridge
The Causeway
Garret Rd Bridge

This should give you a good start to lose a few hours.
