For flatties I dont reckon you can go past the silver foxes in the large size shads as they look the most like poddies.
Gday
Dont go past the Garry glitter colour squidgies. Theyre absoloute dynamite.

hi guys,
im ew at this bream master and im just getting the hang of it. i live in brisbane and have tended to target most of my bream in more natural surroundings (weed beds, drop offs, blind gutters, mangrove eges and snag piles) as these are most readily available in my immediate area. i just purchased some of those squigies and have found in the little estuairies and creeks, esspecially when the greasie's are running(a small type of prawn found in creeks) the jelly prawn works a treat in its smaller sizes and hav used it extensively. but the only problem is the by catch of whitting i seem to be getting, maybe having something to do with live prawns being a gun bait foe xos whiting. but i also use the bloodworm too and the silver fox with some effect.
hope thats helpfull. its my first go at this.

Mate, there is only 1 bait to use in the Bemm for bream and that is the good old sandworm. I think it would account for 95% of the bream caught.
For anyone that doesn't know the Bemm you actually fish an inlet and a boat is mandatory. It should be treated like a holy place because it is one of the few places worthy of its reputation. Unfortunately it looks like certain farming practices are putting pressure on the quality of the water.
The Bemm is fairly well covered in weed and what you look for is gaps to cast into. So I don't know how you'd go with softies, though I reckon Marlo would be worth a look.
But don't overlook that the Bemm surf beaches can be absolutely sensational when it comes to Australian Salmon, which in my opinion is a holy sport fish and deserves a better fate than cat food.

You got to see the squidgy video! They give plenty of tips on choosing colours.

Mate,
Check out Bushy's article in the Nov Issue of Modern fishing. Its called "Going soft in the south". It might encourage you to fish with softies in the Bemm because thats the area where the this article features. I wish there was an article like that about the areas I fish.... Anyway, if you fish the Bemm for Bream this article is a must read.
Hope this helps.

Hey
Ive used the jelly prawn, bloodworm and avocado gold all in the smallest size squidgie wriggler (i think they are size 2) and using the two smallest jig heads (size 4 with 1.5 and 2.0 grams i think). Ive had success with all three colours.
