Just seeing if anyone from South Oz is going to the Nelson round of the ABT Bream. I'm thinking about heading down there but not sure if I'm going to enter. Haven't fished around there for years....
But you never know.

JP and I will be going.

We are driving over to SA to visit JP's folks and family as he is from SA, then we will be heading to Nelson to do the Glenelg comp.

Might see you there

Cheers

Hi Mim,

Thats a long drive from WA......
Have you fished around Glenelg River before?

I'm thinking about entering but as a first timer in a bream tourney am not sure if I'm good enough yet..... and not having a boat is probably also a bit of a disadvantage...

Any suggestion?

JP has fished Glenelg before, but I haven't. We have been told the by-catch in the Glenelg is Mulloway. I can't wait to think i am hooked up to a bream and my drag going off!!!!!

Yes it is quite a drive, but you get that, just another adventure for us. We like to get away whenever we can and always like to do different things when we do. Doing the Glenelg seemed like a good excuse for me to meet the family.

As far as never having entered a comp before goes, well, all I can say is go for it. When I did my first comp I had never caught a bream on a lure, but I learnt so much from my boaters. If you are not confident about going as a boater, as it is your first tourny, then enter as a non-boater. You will be given the opportunity to learn with someone that knows what they are doing.

If the comps are anything like they are over here in WA you will have a great time, meet new people, learn new stuff and have an opportunity to step outside the square for a change.

Hope we see you there

Cheers

Hi Mim,

I think I'll give it a go then.... I'm just a bit concern having not fished around there for such a long time, so don't know all the spots.....

Are you guys coming to Adelaide? if you're and wanting to fish around here, let me know.

Hi Glenn

we will be staying at Hotel Kennealy which is in Norwood. In other words my Mum's place. My Dad is a keen fisho so I'm going to bring him up to speed on luring Bream cos' he certainly likes his bait. I'll hit all the usual haunts for Bream plus some special ones and it would be good to catch up for a fish. Definitely enter the Genelg River round as Nelson is a lovely spot and your boater should show you a good time. It is well worth the effort even if you don't catch a Breamski. I haven't fished the Glenelg river since maybe 1996 and I'm not worried as the scenary is pretty good as well. Plenty of options including looking around Mt Gambier or even whipping down to Pt MacDonnell for a fish.

Hi JP,

Sounds like you're going to be around the corner from me, I'm only in Burnside. PM me before you come down and I'll give you the phone number.

I've been catching a bit of bream on sp and hb, but not down at Glenelg river. Been havin up catching bream on poppers too, its great when they hit the surface lures...do they hit it hard or what.

Adelaide is the bait fisherman haunt, most people here just laugh when you're using lures... but it felt good yesterday when no one was catching anything (using bait) but I caught a few and kept getting hits on sp.

Mt. Gambier is a great spot, blue lake, etc.

Wait to hear from you then.
