hey guys,

i have lost my empty spool of fireline and wanted to know what the fireline poundage Vs. mono poundage. i just wanna know for the 4 pound fireline.

I would suggest that ur poundage on the 4lb is 4lb. however nylon line the thickness or ur fireline might only be 1.5 lb. who knows. I know my 6lb is the thickness of 2lb mono line. i dont' know about the 4lb. I can tell you though that i tested my 6lb line and it breaks at 9lb according to some fish scales i have. so you do have a fair bit of pulling power there. Lets just hope that the reel can hold up to it.

Hi Brody,

4lb Fireline has the thickness of 1 lb mono and an actual breaking strain of anound 9 lb

Bluefins pretty much on the money there lads.
The breaking strain is up to 9lb however.
Its not consistently that high, but its always up well over 4lb!
