Just noticed on "ebay" an Okuma inspira IS15 reel just sold for AU$123 and some change.

To be honest, I saw the auction a coupla days ago but was unsure on what they are worth. I have heard that they are a hard to find reel (IS15) and are pretty darn good.

Mind you, it has to be mailed in from Thailand, so add $15 min for postage to that price.

Would that be a decent price for said reel?

I'd be giving it a re-think if it's coming from Thailand. Asian markets have a thing for selling 'copies' of all sorts of products and passing them on as the real thing for 'unbelievable' prices.

I was looking at purchasing a digital camera (brand new) from ebay. As the camera would have been shipped from Hong Kong, I did a little investigation. Turns out there's two quality grades in the product I was looking at... Japanese quality and Hong Kong quality. Suffice to say I decided to give it a miss and save harder to purchase it in/from Australia.

Another thing to think about is warrantly. Especially since Okuma offer a 5 year warranty. If you purchase offshore, companies will sometimes not honour their warranty because the product wasn't purchased from a local retailer...

Just some food for thought.

I got an Inspira 15 from the USA for A$128 including shipping,

i think that the retail price here will bearound the $200.

the 15 model is nice but the 200 doesnt feel rt better to get a Stradic etc which bream masters have for 30 bucks more

i also saw the ebay ad.

As for Thailand products lots of copies but never in my time there did anyone deny that a copy was a copy, that is as far as Levis for 10 bucks "copy Sir" or a Rolex watch for 10 dollars went
