Could someone tell me the general rule ( if there is one ) on what colours to use in different water conditions.
e.g dirty water, clear water.

thankyou

its been discussed a few times in here but :-

natural colours eg. browns, greys, greens etc in dirty water and bright colours eg chartuese, pinks, golds in clear water. this doesnt always work so be prepared to experiment.

the same applies to hardbodies (i think)

when the waters really dirty i'll use a bigger plastic and heavier leader....and when its gin clear i'll use smaller plastics and a lighter leader.

and when the bream are really aggressive throw whatever you like at them...ive caught them on black 3 inch singletails in clear water!!

Hi kahuna

Pete has nailed it, i come from a flyfishing background and so i usualy use darker coloured flies on dark days and vice versa on bright days.

bright days bright lures
dark day dark lures.

I believe the fish arent so much attracted to the colour but rather action and contrast in the water.

Cheers
