View Full Version : You'll Get Such a SMAK
Sorry, just couldn't resist that.
Just a quick note to let everyone know that BreamMaster is the first store in WA to carry Tim 'The Bream' Morgan's Rackwalker and Skywalker from SMAK Lures.
I'm proud to say that I have become SMAK's first agent and as such, this gives us here in WA a chance to give these lures a good workout.
I'll post soon to let you know when they arrive.
In the mean time you can check out the colours on the SMAK web site.
Many thanks,
Geoff R

The rackwalkers look good. You can put me down for a couple. Should work a treat over shallow ground
They're here.
Man, these Skywalkers are not what I expected. Can't wait to give them a go.

How big are they? If it is supposed to imitate a fallen insect, I imagine they are quite small. I guess the place to use them would be under overhanging branches where insects might fall in to the water.
Man, I would love to see a bream crash a surface lure. Imagine the pandemonium!

I've just got a hold of some of the Skywalkers and gave them a go today. I was fishing around pontoons/jetties and landed a few nice ones. The trick is the retrieve, making sure to keep it slow.
TuckerT; They're 34mm long (1.5") which is the same as a teeny torpedo. They can be used to represent a variety of things from insects to baitfish. You'll also find that bream will actually try to suck the lure of the surface in quite a subtle manner most of the time if left to just sit there on the water.

Thanks for the info Ryan. I'm used to using poppers for tailor and there is nothing subtle about the way they hit the lure! :)
Did you find they need overhanging structure or are they perhaps used to insects floating by and will hit them anywhere?
Trev
I was fishing in areas with lots of pontoons/jetties but were getting most of the fish by sight casting to them up in the shallows. The fish were in the particular area becuase of the large amount of structure that was present but a lot of fish were taken away from it. It was also interesting to note that the time of day did not seem to matter as we started at 8:30am and were still catching fish at 1:00pm.
Trev,
Check them out at www.smak.com.au

G'Day Bear, Nice looking lures. Just thought I would let you know that the link to Breammaster.com at Smak.com.au does not work as 'au' has been added. Be a shame if ppl missed out on finding the breammaster site. Hope this makes sense and thought youd be the best one to notify.
Cheers
