G'day everyone,

Just joined breammaster the other night and thought I'd say g'day.

I'm currently a land locked angler residing in Canberra, so of late the trout have been laughing their heads off at my lure presentations.

In a previous life, I have fished the water out of Jumpinpin at the Gold Coast. My oldest daughter enjoyed catching her first bream in the Clyde River and she has caught plenty since but not lately.

That is about to change!

Nice to be here.

Hi BigGee,
Welcome to Bream Master,
Like you im land based in sydney and love to fish.
There is an ABT Tourn this year at the clyde, any tips on some good fishing spots over there?

Mate, just the classic bream areas, around the oyster leases and near the bridges but usually at night preferably dawn but dusk is fairly productive in full tide is the best. Just be sure to be quiet (typical for bream of course) because they seem very very spookable (is that a word?) in the Clyde.

Oh and live bait, especially prawns, are dead set gold. I have never really pumped up quality nippers in the Clyde but I could be looking in the wrong places.

Lure use for mine in the Clyde; well the best has been a McGrath's "Attack" lure (brown over gold but pink and black has worked too) in about 6 feet or water around the Oyster Lease (any of them), at Dawn at high tide. Dead set surity, as long as you are as quiet as a very quiet thing in quiet land.

Rio prawns work well too as long as there are no Tailor around because all you'll do is catch them!

Enjoy.
