Hi guys, need some advice from the experts out there. Need a new rod - either 6 or 6 1/2 ft and will be using it for SB and HB fishing for flatties, bream etc. Am financially strapped at moment - so have a budget of < $100 for the rod. Have seen the Daiwa Procaster, Synergy, Shimano squidgey so far. The Procaster is my current choice from what I have seen. Is there anything else out there in my price range?

If there is anyone out there who wants to do a swap - I have two Dive/Snorkel with the sharks vouchers for AQWA - over $100 each inc. gear hire. Am happy to trade them for a rod!

Cheers,

Dave

The 6'6" Shimano Stella is an absolute cracker for its price of around $100 that would be my first choice for anyone looking for a quality cheaper alternative that works and you can use it with both softs and hards.

I have pm'd GeffP bout this fishnut. The BM store also stocks the new Silstar HiGraph, which from the information I have seen will be a pretty OK rod. BM has them for $89 which cheaper by far than what I have seen them in Sydney!

THe Diawa Procastor S, or the other weird named one are both great for their price.
Othewise Id go with Richo's advice.

make sure u have a look at the daiwa proceoun (sp?)

i think it retails for 100-120, but it looks damn fine for a lower budget rod.....

Cheers guys, thanx for the advice. Will check out the Daiwa "funny name" rods at the BM store. Anyone know if it's open on Monday public holiday?
