Little Creatures Pale Ale is an awesome beer from Fremantle WA. Bottled brewed and getting more and more difficult to find. Expect to pay between $16 - $20 per sixpack, and anything around $60 per carton is a good price.

I'm sure others will paste below me and confirm the quality of this beer.

You bet there Warren.

It's a great beer with a different taste to most. Those who can should check out the brewery in Fremantle. It's even better on tap.

Poor little thing - how could you take it away from it's mother.....:D

Down in the Docklands there are fish that would take off your hand.... anyone know if you can get a hand-shaped plastic??:D

Pete, try LiquorLand - I had some luck;)

Dave and the guys from the east, I (and many others) would love to come over and have a go. Not so long ago we thought of getting a trip together and travel around the coast of Australia and fish for Bream. Would make a great video.

Thought we'd call it 'Breamin Around Australia'.

Wonder if the lure/clothing/(lots of other stuff) manufacturers would pitch in a bit of sponsorship money :D

never had the pleasure of fishing natural structure :( ....man made or nothing

looks mighty good though

sometime i think the docklands has too much structure, spreads the fish out a little too thin

LakeConjolaFish

Pete, there must be some leather jackets around all that structure I wouldn't be surprised if you nail one on a SP one day:)

& the best cold beer is Vic! Vic Bitter!! :D

Sorry I had to type that. Everyone really knows Tooheys Old is the best beer.:D

The thing is guys, this species usually travels in groups and once one has been caught, the rest tend to commit suicide. the next probelm is that unless consumed quickly, they tend to go off :D

LakeConjolaFish

Bear,

You mean just a few hours in the fridge to firm them up a bit before you take there head off and bleed 'em dry :D

I tend to find their natural environment is cold enough for a quick consumption ;)

I sure do.....:D

Remind us to tell everyone about the Bream feeding habits on the pylons - you seriously would not believe it unless you saw it, I'm contemplating bringing the video camera to the comp, hoping to catch them on tape...

pete s
17-01-2003, 07:06 AM
as dave says we should tell you about the bream feeding habits down here.....well im hoping to be able to take a few pics of them, and seeing as your a photo pro. whats the best way to photgraph fish in the water??

can you just put your polarising sunnies over the lens or is there a polarising filter available?

there have been a few bream down my way id like to take a pic of and post up here.

im using a pentax espio af zoom so no chance of changing lenses.

Bear

Pete,
You can actually get a polarizing lens for most slr cameras. This makes a big difference when taking water shots.

pete s
17-01-2003, 08:48 AM
what if you cant change lenses??

might have to borrow the old mans camera otherwise

Bear
17-01-2003, 08:55 AM
Sorry Pete, I meant to write polarizing filter. Again, they are usually only available for SLR cameras. They can cost from $20-$50 depending on the camera.

HTH.

Guys,

Since this is a beer thread to start with, keep your eyes out for a drop called Alpha Ale, they have it on tap at the Civic in Inglewood. If you like Little Creatures Ale you'll probably love the alpha ale. Very similar style but the honey flavours are a little richer in the alpha. Haven't seen in in bottles or cans though.

Dave,
That is a classic shot mate. I love the colour in that fish. Ours are a lot darker here.

I hope you have that blown up.

Dave W
19-01-2003, 02:23 AM
Yeah they are a very pretty, silver fish over here - got into them today (brag board report up soon) and they were all perfect, bright fish.

Because the camera was a cheapie, max res is only 1024x768 so I couldn't get a really big one done, only about A4 size;)
