Guys,
I hope the lack of fish didn't put too many of you off.

I would really like to thank Jimi, John and Evan for bringing down their boats and giving the guys an opportunity to be able to do a bit of Breamin' from a boat.

I understand there was at least one guy who managed to get his first Bream on lure. Did you get a photo Jimi and who was it??

I would also like to thank the non-boaters who came along and suffered the lask of space. I hope to be able to do this every 2 weeks and encourage a few more boaters.

Thanks again.

Guys,

I would just like to say thanks to all of you who organised yesterdays trip. I had a great time and indeed caught my first Bream (on a lure) this was infact the first fish I have ever caught on a lure.

Thanks to James for being patient and retrieving all the lures that ended up in trees and caught on the bank. It was indeed a new fishing experience for me.

regards

Trev

Craig and I could'nt get on the water till about 6:00. We bumped into a few guys heading back in and they said it was pretty quite.

Craig and I picked up Mitch and we fished till quite late (after midnight) and we picked up three bream at night on plastics so that was pretty cool. Got some good video of hookups and that at night so it was fruitful if not abit slow.

The fish seem to have gone pretty quite the last few days though......

I fished from the shore at Anstey St Guildford yesterday between 5.40pm & 7.00pm

Was it you guys in the white rubber ducky that I spoke to?

Sure was envious seeing so many mobile on water - next time I might be able to arrange some time off to hit the water when you leave mid afternoon

Hey Ira,
What plastics did you guys use. I'm yet to have any luck on bream at night. Are the glo grubs the go at night?

yep that was me

did you end up getting anything???

We tried the glo-grubs but didn't pick up any on them. That's not to say that they don't work casue at the spots where we did'nt get bream we didn't get hits on hard bodies or other patterns either.

Mitch got one on a ECO Gear Pad Tue and I got a couple on sliders in the green speckled colour with the bright orange tail.

Not alot has been said about the pad-tues but they are the best prawn imitation plastic on the market and I rate them. We've been getting a few bream on them latley......

They are a little tricky to rig, more so than other plastics but once you work them out they are good.

Cool
Thanx Ira.

Trev,
Did you manage to get a pic??

Hi Evan

Not even a nibble

The guys 10mtrs upstream landed a reasonable size bream & the guys 2mtrs downstream lost something really BIG

The noise & turbulence it made as it surfaced indicated a substansial size

One of them said it was a small "jewie" (sic)

Must be an "east coaster" referring to our mulloway

that seemed to sum up the day bob

mitch and i went out this evening upstream from fishmarket - and barely got a sniff! i had 2 hits and droped one and that was about it

we did see a couple of soakers land a nice bream just oposite the ramp but all in all seemed to be very quiet. mitch saw a soapie crusing along one of the snags but wasnt interested

it must be the moon- i hope

Good arvo fellas,

We`ll stick at it, and try and make it regular thing for sure....... Its always great to have a heap of breamo`s spreading the gospel, and the amount of baities along the shore that were honestly interested about the lads chucking lures was great to see. Plenty of questions and some of the looks on there faces were quite funny:D

I've fished softies & hard bodies for years (maybe the last 10 - 12) in the streams around Pemberton & Manjimup & the lakes around Waroona for trout & redfin

Trouble with Perth waters is the amount of ground to cover for land based fishers to have a fair go makes for a long long day

That's why you boaties have a distinct edge

It is really interesting that you now fish with lures that I took for granted to fish inland waters a while ago - I have so many lures still to test out on the Swan

If the "trouble & strife" gives a leave pass I might try my luck this weekend around the Guildford area but on the south side - looked interesting from Anstey St - have to see if the waders are still any good to use :D

Thanks every one for the great arvo, especially james for taking me in the boat. so many more options when casting too the shore than from it.
I would definatly be interested in a fortnightly session for sure.
I took a photo of trevors first bream on lure, will try to post on site when processed and if turns out. (cameras always with me).

Going to walk the bank around ascot waters sat morn early and move upstream from there, wish me luck!

once again thanks had a great time.

cheers kevvy

Bear,

As Kevin said he took a photo of the bream even though it was a very small fish, so the moment won't be lost.

I will attempt to catch a bigger one to make an avatar that wont look to out of place with some of the monsters you guys have caught,

Thanks guys for coming along to the Bream afternoon last week, and for the kind words. Sorry I haven't replied earlier, but I've been out of computer contact for a while.

It was great to meet some new bream anglers, and to be able to put Trevor onto a fish. It was a very quiet afternoon fish wise (I only managed 2 bream and 2 tiny grunter, with 1 other bream for Trevor).

I can't think of a better way of spending an afternoon then quietly motoring around the upper reaches of the swan with a bream rod in hand.

Cheers

James.
