hey everyone ive decided i need a boat but as i dont have my licence ive decided i need something i can carry down to the beach (i only live about 300m away) so im gonna get a kayak and deck it out so i can go fishing off it.

what would be a good kayak to get that i could deck out with rod holders and stuff.
i dont wann spend anymore than $1000 on the boat itself.

Thanks in advance

just got myself a Dagger Drifter.

as you might know from previous threads, i have been tossing up between the perception minnow, australis bass and the dagger drifter. i have decided on the dagger drifter after seeing the other 2, and consider it is a much newer design, the quality of the construction and design just kicks ass on the other 2.

the dagger drifter is also a common hire recreational boat that tracks well and good maneuverability for coastal kayaking. as it is shorter, it is not that good for longer distance travelling like the long thin sea kayaks, but what i have is a good all rounder.

good luck

i have got a sit on top kayak from spirit paddle sports in osborne park and it is great, tracks well, very stable, easy to fish out of and isn't too expensive and if you wait till mid summer they will probly have a great deal on with them. i got mine for $389 including a paddle heres a link for a pic with some specs.

cheers, Brody
