Mud Island

Hey guys,

Can anyone give me the lowdown on Mud Island in Moreton Bay. Thinking about doin a trip if our boat is up to the task. It's roughly 3.5 meter tinny but has pretty low freeboards and no bilge pump.

Also where are the best places to fish around the island, and where to find what species.

Any people done this trip their information is well received.

you'll be right until sunday ish when the wind picks up again. go early morning that way you have a bit of light when your heading over there if you arent to confident. as for fishing havent fished it much... but read up on reports and suss out wrecks and drop off and you should be right

Been out past mud in my tinny (3.7m with low sides and no bilge, 18hp on the back) even in a bit of wind you should be right. Wave jumping on the way home is always fun, Tom knows :p. There should be a few squire and sweetlip hanging around, just look for patches of reef or any drop off a and your a chance of fish. Good luck :)
