Hooked

After laying up for four days it was time to test the old Quasimoto back out again and also test my resolve against the "dark lord's" of the Exmouth Gulf;).Again l went in search of Mr Caranx ignobilis who resides on a bombie near you:D The tell tale balls of garfish were showing on the sounder and also visually as they skipped across the surface to avoid my on coming steamship "on the edge" a bumpy yet faithful little vessel.
The day was a scorcher approaching 39 C and with a few flys thrown in just to keep me company l headed to the same old stomping ground where l landed my first GT of the trip and once again it did'nt disappoint.
Until you first catch a birdseye view of these guys in full flight as they smash their way to your skipping, blooping, bouncing offering your cant truly appreciate the force, power and bone crushing tactic's these manics dish out on their unlucky prey.
All l can say is it was a day to remember and an experience l had yet to indulge in on the grand scale.A few smaller fish over the years had come aboard but due to a lack of the right tools the bigger boys had always pushed me around and scoffed at my efforts to tame the beast with my puny offerings.
Well as you will see the result has changed and l now have another fish l respect and hope to meet again some sunny day.Truly was one of my most rewarding fishing moments and one I'm sure to tell Flynn all about when his old man is older than he is now.:D
Its hard to convey what l really felt only to say it was a ripper of a day and one l hope a few of you may experience if given the chance.Dont let distance throw you as with a few mates it makes it all that much easier, something l missed having this time round.... but a few fish later soon fixed that.:p:D Managed to nail four GT's today all at various sizes.
Anyways here is a short film with a very happy fisherman involved.:D The movie did have a really cool sound track by Rammstein embedded but apparantly Universal frowned upon its use so Vern you will just have to settle for the low budget format:D and in the end I just could'nt be bothered as it all got too hard.;):D
Cheers Steve.
