my first creation

To be perfectly honest I've never even been fly fishing before, let alone tied a fly, but I've always found it interesting. I got a bit bored yesterday so I decided to have a go at tying a fly. I had no I dea how to do it so I figured I'd just grab a hook and wing it. Here's what I came up with. The whole thing is made from left over fireline with nailpolish for the shell.

Top effort for your first - looks really good. Have you put it in water yet to see how it sinks ? I like the nippers on it is that smoke fireline ? PAT.

Cheers guys. I haven't put it in water yet but I will when I'm confident the nailpolish is 100% dry. That is smoke fireline 4weight, I just split the ends with a pin, put a little glue on them and pinched each side into the shape of nippers ;)
