Just wondering if any of u guys know where i can get a decent respooling gadget... ive seen ones that attach to the work bench at various tackle stores but havent seen one like this....
it looks pretty handy so Id be keen to get hold of one if somebody could point me in the right direction. Or maybe there is some other type you can recommend:confused:
Cheers
Dave.

Saw one advertised on Sportfich I think! Ita a alloy shaft with a suction cup at one end and a couple of ss cones with a spring and thumb screws for tension adjustments! It was onlt $20.
Ive seen one in action and they are pretty good! Ill try and find the right page and post a link for you Davo!

cheers joe,
looks the part but im wondering how it would go in the horizontal position. looks to me like it might get a bit wobbly at the suction cap if u get wot i mean. could be wrong...have u seen it used horizontally?

lookin at it again, the spool is pretty close to the cap so i guess it wouldnt move around too much.
Do u know if the guy advertising them was in Perth?
Cheers

Try and picture the suction cup...or just above it wobbling as you wind! I saw it used in a tackle store and it worked fine. He DID stick it to the side of the counter, but I guess if you stuck it to a table or your foredeck you could tilt the rod to the side and wind couldnt you?

the cheap way of respooling ive found is to take an icecream tub fill it with water and chuck the spool into it
wind off directly from that onto the reel and the line lays prfectly and is also wet which means it will lay more loose and prevent loops when youre using it.

of course this is only really usefull for spinning reels.
casters are a whole different kettle of fish
