my yammie 60 4stroke needs its 100 hr service i thought it would be around 500 bucks. called hunts marine today and they quoted me $449 just for labour and around 300 hundred for parts.
does that sound a bit steep or is that a standard price?
any help would be great thanks guys

sounds high, had mine done in March and it cost me $600 all up, although that was done outside of melbourne.

shop around. that seems steep on the labour and parts. I am $335 plus parts as an example.

My tohatsu 50 hp is $235 a year regardless.
I realise that the main brands are a bit more expensive but that still sounds steep to me.
Good luck.

The log book list 4.7 hours for your 100hr service, not cheap however it doesn't sound totally unreasonable as long as their changing the water pump impeller. I've been very happy with and have never heard a bad word about Independent Outboards if your anywhere near Blacktown.

Hmm so 4.7 hours of labour=449 bucks doesn seem too far off I think...
Wow I need to change jobs:eek: That sounds a bit pricey to me

Seriously it's not that hard. Take a look at this on You Tube. With patience it can be done at home (although this may void your warranty..............but save you $400!).

Think I paid $250 for the parts for my 150 and did it myself. Had a mate show me how to do it first time, then pretty easy from then. I'm doing 3 115 yammy 4 strokes on Sunday, if your keen I can take step by step photos and put them up. Wouldn't attempt it if I didn't know someone that was in the game though. When you stuff it up, it'll cost ya. Rebuilding costs $$$
