Ouch!!!! geez i hate hooks in me or seeing it on others for that matter.
Many yrs ago an old fishing buddy showed me how to remove hooks from ppl almost painlessly and quickly.
Firstly you get a piece of mono or similar about 10kg bs or better that is about 30cm long.
Place the line thru the bend of the hook and get both ends together in your free hand.
Place some weight on the back of the hook or treble to hold the barb less into the flesh. (You can press the hook/treble against the side of the boat or whatever if you are alone.)
Lastly grip the ends of the heavy line and give one quick firm jerk.
The hook will come out quickly without the barb catching too much flesh along the way.
I have used this method on hooks on lures or for livebaits up to about 8/0 size and it has always worked with minimal pain. The clue is to put a fair amount of pressure on the hook to relive the barb.
May your fishing days not need this tip, but rest assured its a whole lot faster, easier and less painful than using pliers or cutting the hook off and threading it thru completely.
