Aren't they used on knife jigs ? Although it looks like their size 4 hooks which sounds a bit small to me  Pat. Just took a 2nd look thats quantity 4 and size 1/0 so I reckon for knife jigs. Not to say you couldn't use them for something else.

They can certainly be used on blades...
Been using them to chase the long silver fish lately and have so far returned some cheek scales and a bite off, but it's early days yet.
The stinger hook doesn't impede the action, and I have a feeling once the hook finds it's home, it's not coming out...landing these CBD fish on the other hand... :o :D

Too small for most jigs as the hook gape needs to be bigger than the jig width, probably mainly used for poppers, spinners. Looks like it'd be effective on those big blades

I use them on tiny slugs similar to a knife jig.

They're designed to be used as a stinger hook on the large soft stickbaits like 6 and 9 inch slug-gos. You loop them on to the gape of a worm hook after its been put in the plastic and then stick the hook further down the plastic. It stops short striking and won't impede the action. Having said that I use them on metal slices similar to how an assist hook works on a knife jig. Look at the diagrams here http://www.gamakatsu.com/new_products/new_gsting.htm

Looks like they could be good to stop short strikes on the larger plastics.
I use small assist hooks like these on metal slices chasing salmon in the surf, they're a lot harder for the fish to throw than trebles.
