G'day all. I'm heading down to KI over Xmas with the missus and her family. Never been before, will be taking the boat. 3.7 proline. Was wondering if anyone has fished it before? Any tips and places? Wanting to hit the bream up.
Cheers kiel..

There are lots of trout in the rivers on the island if you can keep a secret.
Forget the bream mate, XOS KG Whiting, massive schools of XL australian salmon. big jews, tommy ruff (yum) and snapper galore!
Don't forget the masses of crays on the South coast!
Can you tell how jealous I am!

Some of the best land based bream fishing I have ever done.
Bay of Shoals

I got plenty more photos but I think you get the idea:)
The Harriet river, South West river, Middle river, Cygnet river, Chapman river are all good for a bream but during christmas, I'd be trying the less populated places.
Don't forget the Kingscote Jetty is one of a few places you can catch KGW at night and the bay of shoals and American river will be perfect for launching the tinny.
I go there a fair bit and I dont bother taking the boat any more.
Cheers!! I'm staying in a house near American river so should he good.

Google the north coast the small "rivers" more like creeks and groups of puddles (some more substancial than others) not only hold good bream but some succulent sizeable marron (freshwater crayfish). Very tight snaggy country definately not boating water. Alot is on private property but if your resourceful there are ways to get in there. The north coast is also a great place to escape the summer seabreeze troll up some huge snook, get a feed of tommies and garfish - don't forget the squid jigs. Good luck - nearly forgot some excellent surf over there if you don't mind sharing the water with the seals and great whites:D:D:D PAT
Thanks! Also is there any good tackle shops over there to get some more info if needed. (and if I get smoked) ha

Theres a fishing shop/hardware store on the main drag at Kingscote. They sell HBs and SPs. Theres a young guy that works in there who will tell you what lures are working well where.
