Hi guys,
lve seen elsewhere on this site comments about water ingress through 2 holes in rotor of this reel. Would those holes be on the inside of the rotor(bail roller side) if not where are these holes, also has anybody a quik fix for this problem.

Thanx

Have a look through the archives and you'll find a few threads on these reels. I posted about the exact things ages back...
basically, there are two small holes in the rotor which allows water straight through onto the main bearings, which is a recipe for disaster! Funnily, not allo the samuria's ia have seen have these holes!
I guess you could easily seal them with a lil silicon or arildite, just go easy on it. Its a real shame coz the line laying of the samuria is very high rate (never throughs loops)...so if the rest of the reel was good, i'd like the reel!
having said all this...i still use mine!
:D

Sorry I forgot one bit...
The holes are under the spool...
If you take the spool off, you will see two holes on the rotor (if your reel has the holes:rolleyes: ).

Thanx for your reply KINGPIN.

Thankfully my i7 doesnt have the 2 holes where you mentioned they might be, there is 1 other querie in regard to the freeplay
of the spool(grab lip of spool & able to wobble with little force).
Does your reel have this same freeplay, has anyone had probs when fighting fish?
l never thought(never had before), to check for this idiosyncrisy
on any previous purchases.

Cheers

I have had no problems at all with the reel. The drag is fine and the freeplay you mentoin causes no hassles for me personally.
It really is a shame that the reels have these bearing and freeplay problems as without them, they would be a quality reel. But thats what you get for a cheaper reel with 7 bearings!
Funnily the people i fish with have Laguna's and Capricorns, and their reels throw three times as many loops as my Samuria...:D

HTH
