Single curled tail question

Hi All,

Everyone is of course familiar with the curved single tail soft plastic.

I was wondering if anyone ever threads the hook through so that the tail is in the down position?

I always do it so that the tail curves around the hook.

The only reason I do that is because it looks right! But heck it might be supposed to go the other way!

Many guys do rig the opposite way. I'd be interested to hear the arguments for both. I personally rig the same as you LCF.

if the singletail is 1 colour i'll rig it like you do lcf.

if its 2 colours i'll rig it so the darker colour is facing down...the tail will curl on the side.

Personally rig solid colours with the hook and then face the light side down with two colours :)

i was told that with the t tails or paddle tails that if you rig them the opposite way to the jig then they leave little puffs of sand as you bounce them along- but im not too sure about that with the grubs.

perhaps another explaination for using the grubs rigged the same way as the hook would be that when the jig sits on the bottom the hooh is meant to bend up so you dont get snagged as much. if you rig the grub the same way and there is a bit of current the tail will still wriggle when the jig is stationary??
