When fishing in the lower estuary with soft plastics (within about 2km from the entrance) which part of the tides do you prefer- last hours of run out and fist hours of run in or last hours of run in and first hours of run out?

The reason i ask this is because i will be fishing alot on the flats around weed beds, rocks, mangroves and bridge pilons- some sunken timber occasionally. NSW South Coast

I'm a firm believer in the top of the tide and early run off - It certainly makes a difference when you're shore based and that's the period i catch most of my fish.
If you are fortunate enough to have a boat it doesn't make that much difference as you have far more fexibility in areas to fish.
Bream and other fish's distribution are effected by available food - on a high tide they can move into submerged areas/flats to get stuck into mussels, etc. On the low they would be more likely to retreat to gutters and deeper structure.
