Well it was another successful day,the 5th running of Australias most popular Squid tournament with boat entrants being turned away due to a full house an amazing achievement for the middle of winter.

Diaster struck just before the weekend with Perths wettest day in 25 years clouding up the water and making it hard for entrants to find the weed and sand patches, apart from that it was a nice but overcast day with a bit of breeze blowing at times, heres a few pictures :)

( Theres no official results yet and i was not paying attention so i don't know all the names )

Its time to weighin,,

2nd in the yaks was Vanessa ,She also won the Gancraft/gladitor squid comp last month and her husband and herself picked up wins in both classics last year,,making it a very succesful year,(not sure about an umbrella for 2nd prize tho :p) but there looks like plenty of goodies in the bag,lol

Winner in the yaks picked up a $1000 lowrance and an Emerdalas reel i believe (for heaveist squid)his name escapes me at the moment,,

The favs in the boat section was of course Ian Sewell and Dror holding the record for the largest bag in a classic near 8 kilos last round,,after they had finished checking out Pauls cute behind the head of Breaden gave them there booty ,You beaut Breaden egi rods and various products i believe, including another lowrance structure fish finder

While some were checking out Pauls behind others were watching this young lass, "Team Squirter" was the name apparently,,,

The eventual winners were the lads from Breaden, winning a rod from Breaden and an Engel etc, they must be wrapped to come out from Japan and win Australias biggest comp :)

Colourful personality " Ant" took out the best inked Adult award and good to see him bounce back after a terrible prefish where he was handlineing for squid and he answered a call of nature and a squid grabbed his line at the wrong time and a half hitch of line wrapped around his doodle ,hmm maybe thats a story for another time,, :D He also touched Tims spiky hair and lived to tell the tale the story goes, lol

Kids winners was this chap,,ususual to see a squid put a handprint on someones face :D He got a bag of goodys for his efforts,,

One of the hot favourites in landbased was Szarn Tink 2nd this time,3rd last time,1st the time before,,Mr Consiestant folks might start calling him,,

Seeing comp winners Breaden won a Breaden egi rod ($750 this baby sell for) Dr Jun the young guy from Breaden had a massive scissors, paper, rock comp amonst the crowd, after around 150 people were eliminated it came down to three,,remember Ant ? heres the guy that the line,,never mind ,lol

The best known face from our overseas visitors,,Dr Jun an orthepedic surgeon and a Breaden field staffer is hugely popular out here and first came out early 2009 and every year since,,next to him is Tim our local japanese interpetator, they love the Aussie "punk rocker"and he is in a latest breaden catologue i believe

A couple funny storys i heard,,on the Breaden boat someone put his brand new $800 egi rod, stella 2500 with $200 custom handle between his legs while munching on some KFC, he was not paying attention and a squid took off with the whole outfit and its never been seen again, the other story the head of Breaden spoke to Tim ( jap interpretator) in Chinese mandarin,to his suprise Tim answer in fluent mandarin,,lol
