Plenty of fish up there mate, dont need to worry too much about lack of fish up there!
Take lots of gold and orange skin deeps and some of the large snapback jerkbaits- pearl and bubble gum are good colours. Also big squidgy wrigglers in bloodworm and evil minnow and paddle tail atomic 5" shads in clear with gold fleck work great.
If you need some saltwater jig heads, let me know as there are a couple of hundred fresh from the molds sitting in boxes at my feet as I type. For sale cheap through the club.
Don't forget a few gold\black 70mm rooster poppers as well. Metal slices are worth adding if the tuna are around as well.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Stocked up on McArthy 5 inch placcies, skin deeps and some poppers so just need to find the fish around tbiddi which will be the challenge as I have not fished there before.
Do you find the spangos out near the reef or closer to the shore / open flats or near bommies ?
Head straight out to the broken ground past the sand patch. Head southerly first then drift back towards the north. Wind will usually take you this way. Drift until you come across a big hole in the reef with a few bommies in it. There are usually a heap or buff bream around them. Have a cast around for trevs then head back along the broken ground. You'll soon pick up where they are sitting.
Also fish the ground at the edge of the sandy area, usually a few fish there as well. Always keen your eyes out for bait fish being smashed and trevs following you. Sounds nuts, but they do.

Take a few squid jigs aswell ,theres some big inkers there too, while your drifting throw one over the back and set your drag too! Been smoked a couple of times with a squid jig out the back , but the squid will happily take a popper too:D
Funny that, last few years we had them following the popper, but this year was nuts with them hammering our clousers. Picked up some really good feeds.

Would a handheld GPS work to keep out of the sanctuary zones ?
Never used one so I am not sure if you can plug all the info in to stay out of the no-fish zones.

The zones are well marked. Get a brochure on them from Fisheries and you'll be fine.

Stu so without GPS you can stay out of sanctuary zones ?
Gps will help heaps. You can see the Markers on shore for most zones but the GPS makes things easy.
Better to be safe that fined.

Jigger you should be fine around Tbiddi, theres just the one zone near the morings that are marked with 4 yellow cones its pretty small zone but keep driving past there heading west towards the reef like Bear said and in around 2.5mts and workout your drift and and cast away, if you want to explore further south a gps is prefered, looking for tiny yellow poles in the dunes can be hard to see especially when the reef is further out and cones dissapear if its chopped up a bit, not all the sanctury zones run 90 degree's from the shore some go off in different angles so just be careful, bino's would help :D We can easily help you out just invite us all up there with you, however we would all be fishing and wouldn't make very good deckies:D:D:D
