Lads and Ladies
I have read all the forums on the Spotter vs Stalkers and Photocromatic (SP?) vs non photocr.......

Let me see if ive got this right. they're all good but if fishing in overcast or dark condition then photocr are not that good. Is this correct?

What I want is a good pair for sunny and dim conditions (after all I'll be in Victoria for the next two years)

All those who help me out here will be on my Chritsmas card list:D

What ever brand you buy, just remember, amber lens for estuary and blue for offshore use. Forget stalkers go for the Spotters or even better if you can find them Sport Optics.

Supposed to be some new Maui Jims that are dynamite for Breamin around somewhere. Other than that Spotters in ICE/bronze P/C lenses.

cheers

Dont forget a nice strap to keep them attached to your head.

Nothing like $250 glasses in 20 feet of water is there Kinpin?

You should have a field test with the spotters on an overcast day first. I've just recently got a pair and they are hot stuff although havent looked around in em during overcast conditions. They arent that dark however during a sunny day and I doubt you'd be walking around blind if it was overcast - its not like the photchromatic effect is reallly that bad

And about being so bad you wouldnt be able to see under jetties in o/c conditions, as Bear quite rightly pointed out you wouldnt go using sunnies in shaded/dark areas in the first place!

I don't know much about Victorian conditions but I reckon u should at least try them out and have a look at the river with them first before you pass on them...or even go cloud viewing ... its amazing all the faint clouds u can see that you couldn't otherwise without them haha :)

Yep, I'm with Dan on this one. I've been wearing Kaenons for 12 months now and they're the best I've worn. The yellow lense #35 for Victoria and low viz overcast days is a great choice.
I gave away both pairs of Stalkers and my photocramatic Spotters since buying Kaenons. Also have a pair of grey lense #12 for bright days oan Ocean work....
Couldn't recommend them higher....... :D  :D  :D
