I'm making jig heads at home and have a choice of a few different styles of hooks. I'm not sure which one to use.
Choices are:
Eagle Claw
VMC
Mustard
Gamagatsu
Owner

I used the eagle claw already and bent a couple on snags and multiple fish hooks up on the one jig. It does say they will bend on purpose to free snags, lol, but really they seem pretty flimsey.

Whats your recommendation/favourite hook?

I did forget nitros!
i'll look for them now

EDIT:
Nitros are the jig head not the hooks, I think from memory they use owner hooks

Gamakatsu round jigheads had already cost me a few really big fish:mad:

Never again anything but gamas for me.

Mate I made about 1000 jig heads on the egale cclaws for when the kids come out. They are ok and will still catch fish but you can't beat Gama's they are number one and your hook up rate is heaps better because of there super sharp points.

You just have to choose if you want to pay about 40cents per jig head or 4 cents for the egale claws

i make my own [mostly for snapper] and have used mustad and gamakatsu and both are good though i reckon the gama's are a little better as far as hookup rate goes. the ones i use are very flexible but have used them up north on big balchin and some have come back a little bent but have not lost a fish due to a hook straightening yet... touch wood!

Gamakatsu 211 and TT's on Gamakatsu's take up about 85% of my jig box.
