Guyz,

Sure enough u's have lured me in and i can't wait to go bream fishing one day. Seen though i live in near roma in queensland and have next to no saltwater experience just wondering how i would go about catching a few. I would prolly be lookin at somewhere like hervey bay cos no doubt the girlfriend will want to go to the beach, i will be able to get a boat. But just need to know things like when is the best tide and some sorts of places that would be worth a try. Anyone here from hervey bay??

Cheers,

Aaron fiedler

Never fished that area but if you give some more details about your gear or ask speifics about gear I and many others will be happy to tell you what we think.

If you are getting started on gear I'd rcmd a 6'6' GL3 Loomis with a Shimano Stella 1000 and Green Fireline (some body wake me up Im dreamin):D Thats if you've got $1500 burning a hole in your pocket.

You will be able to get a great little set up for $200. I use Shimano reels and they have a Aernos 2000 for around $90, great reel. As far as rods go there are a number of brands to choose from, Shimano make a number at the lower end of the price range which will do the job, if you want to spend more look at Black Diamond, GLoomis, and the upmarket Shimanos.

Gives us some more info mate and Im sure theres heaps of blokes that can steer you in the right direction.
