Gday guys
i was just looking at a stella 2day n i was just wondering if they r any good or r they 2 fast.
matt:confused:
G'day
I'm pretty sure the stella is fine (i think thats what starlo uses?).
Although, for the price, i'd say your better off with a stradic and use the rest of the money on lures and a rod. Unless your getting it second hand!
The price is soooo high on the stella, but if you can afford it and it feels right, why not:D

I saw an episode of Hooked on Adventure ( a fishing show where Starlo and Bushy are the hosts) where Starlo and Bushy were both fishing squidgies in Walpole and were catching tons of bream. The rod and reel (Stella rod and stella reel) were both doing the job well and the bream were bruisers (some of them).
Though it is on the dear side compared to some others, if you have the money why not. I know I would buy it if I had enough money to.
Good luck and i hope you get what you want.

My mate bought a Stella 6'6 for about $100 delevired seems like a top rod but he wouldnt let me use it (while he is looking anyways).
OOOPPPS
Are we talkin about the rod or the reel, coz if we're talkin about the rod, then discard my above comment as i was refering to the reel.;)

If we are talking about the rod then sorry about the earlier post.
From what I've heard the rod is meant to be great value for money. As it said on Campbells site "this rod demands a price 3 times its amount" I'm not sure if they are the exact words but it means the same.
I think its on Campbells or the Shimano site but it says that the rod is the quality of a custom made one but at a factory rolled price.
If we are talking about the Rod, JP has the Steve Starling Stella 66 designed by Ian Miller and he thinks that my Browning with a syntec IM6 graphite blank model no: STS66ML 6'6, which has 2-3 inches lopped off the butt by JP,which makes it about 2 inches shorter than the stella, and it DohDohDohDohs all over the Stella. It is not as whippy and a lot stronger in the butt section. You can punch a cast when you need to, but still do the finesse stuff. I love it and have caught heaps of fish on it.
Cheers,
Mim

hi mim i ve got a browning im8 graphite rod and am extremely happy with it. the only problem is that it is a bit heavy for brean spining as it is 2-6kg- but still does the job. would be ideal for breamin if it was 2-4kg but anyway. its got a lot power in the butt and have caught some big pelagic on it up north.
where abouts did you get your browning from mim??? im in the market for a new rod and the only place that i no that sells brownings is campbells

Hi Evan,
JP bought me my rod from Campbells. He paid $139 for it. We popped in there this arvo and they dont have any of mine left. They did have a 6ft rod though. The IM6 are a little bit lighter than the IM8, so maybe thats the way to go. They use a Lumis blank, so you get the quality without the price.
We just spent a weekend down in Australind and all we got were a few Taylor. Went out on the ocean in my bro-in-laws "real" boat (thats what he reckons anyway) and didnt do much better there apart from an almost hammerhead, but thats another story.
