a guy i know fishes there often. the bass are still quiet (only a handful caught since the floods) and quite a lot of sediment in the water apparently. tilapia, gar, catfish, turtles and garfish are still biting.

cheers

After all the rain, the dams are turning over. This is normal. Also, the water temperature is way too high for good active fishing currently.

Generally speaking, after a good fill or the rain we've had, give about 2-3mths for it to really return. The changes are quite significant: oxygenation, filtration, sedimentation, detritis, nitrogen concentrations, significant vegetation breakdown, pressure changes in the dam, topographical changes, etc. These factors do make a difference in how a dam will fish and what will happen with the dam. It is why we speak of dams turning over.
