View Full Version : Piss poor effort ABT

I'm sorry to have to do this to you guys, but your efforts in helping secure boats for the WA State Team for the GF are a bloody disgrace.
Calling Ira days before the team is due to leave, after airfares and accomodation are paid for, after competitors have taken annual leave to compete and telling him that you haven't been able to secure boats for the guys is a very poor indication on your abilities to run an event.
Perhaps the competitors that pay entry fees around the country would like to know how you've dumped fee paying ABT members in a situation whereby they've paid $1500 each to travel to the other side of the country, and are now threatened with the prospect of not even being able to fish in the GF.
And to make matters worse, you have avoided numerous phone calls since and refuse to return any to boot. This team was promised boats, and the fact that they have paid more than anyone to get over to the Finals, you would think the organisers would have had boats arranged weeks ago.
I was just reading another post on QFM where Morgan says WA can't host a final until they have enough customised boats to accomodate the field. What a joke, you guys can't even organise a bloody tinny for these guys who are already on the East Coast wanting to compete.
This team has managed to scrape up 5 boats so far through the last minute generosity of some NSW locals in less than a week. And this has been at additional cost to the team through having to rent cars etc. to pick the boats up from as far away as Canberra.
And if a resolution isn't found by tomorrow night, I'll be posting the phone number for QFM so that the 1000+ breamo's who disagree with the way you've handled this can ring you direct and let you know.
You've got one chance only at this guys, don't underestimate this as something you can just ignore and have it go away.
If any other guys read this who can help out please call the numbers below and talk to Ira. He has been on the phone constantly since Morgan dropped his last minute bomb. Being only a week before, the guys couldn't ship their own boats over in time, it's a long weekend so there aren't any boats for hire in the area, and the short notice (read that as NO notice) has made it difficult for guys who do want to help to get the time off to get to the GF with their boats.
Starlo, Bushy, DaveW and others have bent over backwards to help, but they shouldn't bloody have to. QFM should have had this sorted a month ago.
Get your act together and produce the boats you promised to help out with. And since you have obviously lost Ira's mobile number it's 0409 610 020.

jerry, jerry, jerry:D
well said Warren that is pretty poor, especially dropping that bomb just days away from the comp
thanks Brody
Pretty piss poor really!
Just reassures the idea a lot of WA guys have that we are sort of left out and forgotten about. Really sad IMHO!

Just for interest's sake - Warrens message as above is reproduced word for word (expletives deleted lol) in the QFM forums without the benefit as yet of any reply, from either the Steves or the general membership.
It would seem that Mr Morgans could not give a DohDohDohDoh if WA is in his little Abt or not, this boat situation is a damn disgrace SM.
As for the bit about WA holding a GF, who the bloody hell does he think he is?
As I have said in prior posts, I'm not a fan of Mr Morgan this only goes the futher my low opinion of the guy. Maybe now a few more might wake up to him and his ego,
If anyone has a problem with anything I have said in this post and that icludes you Steve, my phone is always on the hook.

As pathetic as this is, it's not over just yet. I've even had a call from a guy I've never even heard of or from b4 who would like to help out. This is what these comps really mean and what a NATIONAL comp is all about.
Many thanks to all those who have helped the guys to date.
Hard to moderate people when this sort of thing happens and people do want to express opinions.
All I ask is that we don't lower our colours guys. Lets make this work for us not against us. Don't give them any ammo.
Thanks,
After seeing the state of Ira b4 he left I'd like nothing more than to find a dark little corner for our friends and this isn't the only issue with ABT that has to be dealt with.
Lets hope that some lessons are learnt for this season.
44 boats for our first come says a lot for the sport in WA.
Hi Bream Master,
Ive just read your post and carnt believe what im reading.
Its a disgrace to hear what has happened. And on a G.F as well.
Mate i hope that you guys kick ass and win the thing, and next year host it and return the favour to the organisers who carnt get you guys BOATS, what a laugh.
Just an opinion.;)

the list lives, in my head MWAH Mwah Mwah
I feel nothing but heartache for you guys...
Its very disappointing that such a thing can happen and not have any help/ feedback from the guys in charge. Like Bream Master has already said it should have been sorted out months ago.. the people in charge knew what was going on and that WA had to come across to NSW to fish for the GF. Would it not occur to most people that "they might need something to fish in??" or is that to obvious?
I would say something along the lines of a little common sense? but it doesnt seem to be very common for anyone Ive come across....
After using this site for a month or so now, I know that it would never happen if the GF was in WA, you guys really seem to have your "own" house in order and have heaps of people willing to help and have real ideas and solutions to solving the bigger issues..
I just hope that all goes well for the team and that the boat thing is sorted out ASAP for peace of mind for the competitors.

I seem to remember when watching Breamin I in the intro and conclusion, these people in question, saying breamin was such a good sport because it could become, and they'd endeavour to make it national.
I dont' know bout anybody else but I reckon actions speak louder than words, and the efforts to include WA into this "national" sport are contradictory to their "dream" of a national sport.
I haven't fished a comp yet so I had to pay ABT $20 to be able to do so....makes ya wonder what they do with it??

Guys,
I'd offer my tinny, but it is not set up per Breamin' Rules. I hope you get it all sorted.

Hi Guys,
I really wish I can help. If the event is hold in QLD. I will be able to trace a couple of boats just for the GF.
It is really hard to help especially come to the last point. And it is very far away to come up to brisbane and tow the boat to Cyde as well:mad:
Anyway, I know how disappointed are for WA breamers. I just wish I can give a little help.
Best luck for WA teams.

Do me a favour and log onto QFM's forums and let Morgan and Boothy know just how badly this reflects on them.
Cheers

Hey guys, I just got off the phone with DaveW,I've offered my boat if it is needed:) .
Apparently , all is sorted in the boat department and the guys will be able to fish the comp.
If something falls through ,the offer is still there.
I'm in Sydney , DaveW has my number.
Good luck to all the guys from every state.
But ....... GO NSW......:) ;)
Mick
Well done Mick and Dave W, thanks for supporting our West Ozzie boys
Cheers
Mim
Well done to all the guys that helped out the WA team.
This is what should happen as a matter of course in a truly National competition.
If anyone from over east needed a boat here to fish a comp, then I'm sure you'd see a really positive response from the WA camp.
cheers

It seems that Mr Morgan and myself have reached the same wavelength judging by the phone call I just finished.
Let me just say his efforts have been directed to assisting the team to overcome this problem at all costs.
Thankyou Steve
;) ;) ;) ;)

What's the old saying....
'Actions speak loader than words.'
Bloody quiet on both fronts it seems.
Good to see the guys are in it though. First time for a WA full team. They should be bloody proud of themselves.

Nothing has changed in relation to the incorrectness of what they did, or the way I feel about it. It was a phone call from the QFM office to Steve Morgan on his mobile that prompted his call to me this morning.
Had the guys in the office not read just how poorly we held their actions, I can almost guarantee the response wouldn't have come so quickly.
The editing I have done to my posts is only to acknowledge that Steve has given his commitment to assisting the team. You will see in time that whilst my posts can be very diplomatic, you can read between the lines as to what has just transpired.
Warren.
I read, with interest, a reply on another thread about ABT not having to supply boats for a GF. Why then did SM say WA won't get a final until it can supply xxx boats??
WA guys might rant and rave, but I'd like a few people to see it from our point of view.
I wonder how many other states didn't get badges or didn't get the tour guide or didn't get their prizes on time.
Last point is that this may be a WA based site, but a lot of the comments come from members that are NOT WA based. Lets not let this develop into an east vs west thing, it's about all of us and how WE feel. If I remember rightly, one of the noisest of the lot is a Queenslander. Unless he's moved state without me knowing.

Bream Master,
I was just about to add how disappointed i was in the guys from ABT but i see you have removed your post from their website and you seem to have backed down on your own website. Are we permitted to know the reason???? Alot of us guys have bagged them on here. If we were wrong i think we have jumped to a few conclusions and my face certainly would have been red if i had posted a bad message to find out i hadn't been given all the details.
I look forward to your response.
Ted Donnerley
Here's my response Ted, but first a question ???
Why is your IP address the same as QFM's in Queensland if you live in Broome ???
If you're going to log on under a bullDohDohDohDoh name and try and dig yourselves out of the DohDohDohDoh, why don't you at least have the brains to use a different internet access you moron !!!
At least I had the guts to use my real name on your site.
Warren.
Lol, hmmmm, OOOOWWWW, so that's why my ears have been burning today:D
Cheers Samurai
Interesting, gotta love computers.
