Hi there

Just wondering about that basic FC (sunline)
How does it go as a leader, I was told used
to fish straight through,

I think it should be fine. When you use it as a mainline, you use it as leader also. That's what I never understood about mainline and leader specific fluro :S

Good point mate

I think the basic has more stretch though.

I have almost finished a whole spool of 6pd. Its been good. Very economical.

If I was going lighter though I'd use FC rock.

Cheers

I'd steer clear of it if you are fishing around structure. I've had a number of mysterious bust offs of big bream and jews using it (and that was 14lbs). I'm back to FC rock.

basic fc is a 'lower grade' fluro that hasn't had all of the manufacturing process done to it to make it super abrasion resistant like fc rock.

this is why it's called a mainline fluro not a leader fluro cause it's softer and lays better on the spool.

it makes a great leader on flats cause of this softness and it has more stretch but around leases and structure it doesn't have the abrasion resistance to handle heavy application.

also remember you get what you pay for...

I used it for ages Deano, no great drama's with it. I also used it straight through without a hick up.

probaly can't go wrong with it bud!
